With CEREC, or ceramic reconstruction, these same-day restorations simplify the process of getting a dental crown or other restoration. The CEREC machine uses advanced CAD (computer-aided design) and CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) technology to digitally scan, design, and mill your restoration right here in our office. This means we can make CEREC crowns, CEREC porcelain crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and even cosmetic veneers, all in a single day. There's no need for temporary restorations or multiple trips to the dentist. How Do CEREC Same-Day Restorations Work?
The process of getting a CEREC dental crown or other restoration begins with an initial consultation. A member of our restorative team will perform a digital scan of your teeth. This scan creates a precise 3D image of your tooth, which is used to design your custom restoration. Once the design is complete, it's sent to the CEREC machine for milling. The CEREC machine creates your restoration from a high-quality ceramic material that mimics the look and strength of natural teeth. Depending on the size and complexity of the restoration, the milling process can take about 30 minutes to an hour.
